Sudden exit

Today I found out rather abruptly that a friend of mine crossed over. She had been feeling ill lately and was in some pain, but I didn’t think her condition was life-threatening, so this came as a bit of a shock.

I did not see her often, but we chatted regularly online and she always greeted me with warm hugs at the local sci fi convention. Right now her absence does not seem real, but I expect to feel it acutely next April when I attend Norwescon.

What I find interesting about her passing is that her dog, who she loved wholeheartedly, crossed over last August. And here it is, one year later, and she’s gone as well. She was still in mourning for him, and it gives me great comfort to know that they are together again.

  1. So sorry to hear of your loss, but now she is visiting new and beautiful vistas…Blessings, Lola

  2. Its always so sad when the ones we love pass away. I still cry over my grandmother and she’s been gone 5 years. I’m sorry Cheshire! Death is not the end, but a new beginning.

Thank you both for you kind words. I am sure she is elated to be reunited with her loving dog, but those of us who loved her on this plane will surely miss her.
